Should Kids Have Summer Reading?

I think that kids should have summer reading, but they should not have to do any kind of report of project. That would be unfair. Kids do need to have some work over the summer, but it should not be writing papers. Reading is okay.
I know that other people would not agree with this, but are you the ones who have to do the work? NO! And I also know that the USA is lacking a lot in the education department compared to other countries, like China and other Asian countries. But what is the point of being the smartest? Shouldn't we all be trying to get along instead of being a constant race with everyone.
And to get back to summer reading- why do a report on a book when the kids could easily get the answers off the internet and not even have to read a PAGE of the book (of course I've never done that). It's pointless to do reports, and we are supposed to be having a break- which means to work- and not LESS work. Duh. Shut your freakin' gob.
